Inside Chris & Laura’s Home Renovation

August 29th, 2016

Chris and Laura knew what they wanted in a home, but they just couldn’t seem to find it. They decided that renovation was the way to go at the beginning of 2016, and our team helped them find the perfect home to use as a starting point. Months later, their vision has come to life. Scroll through the photos to see the final result, and click here to read more about their home renovation journey!

At The Justin Landis Group, we are honored and grateful to close 100 houses already in 2015! Last year we reached this milestone in October. What a humbling ride it has been! We couldn’t have achieved this without an amazing team and all of our great clients who we now call our JLG friends. Congratulations to Ryan and Erica Knight for being our 100th closing this year! (And 102nd!)

We look forward to helping the next 100 clients!

JLG Ranked #2 at Keller Williams Peachtree Road

June 25th, 2015

Blog Quote

We are so grateful of our #2 ranking in sales at the Keller Williams Peachtree Road office of more than 300 agents. Our success is made possible by great clients and an awesome team. The JLG team works hard to put the needs of our sellers and buyers first and to do what is best for our clients – not us. This has allowed us to grow and help more people sell or find one of the biggest assets in their lives.

JLG Sold Sign

The Justin Landis Group helped our clients buy or sell over 100 homes in 2014!

Our team had an amazing 2014 servicing clients all across Atlanta (even in Dahlonega!) with all types of properties — vacant & tear down lots, new construction, historical homes, condos & town homes, first time homes, forever dream homes, and investment properties. We are fortunate to have a great team and great clients to achieve this success.

And we are on pace to sell almost twice as many in 2015. Stay tuned for updates!

It’s Time To File For Your Homestead Exemption

January 17th, 2014

Happy New Year!  If you bought a home in 2013, congratulations!  You can now start to reap some of the benefits of owning your own home.  One of those benefits is taking advantage of the tax benefits that come with home ownership.  An important step in reducing your property taxes is to claim a Homestead Exemption.  This will reduce your property taxes, resulting in a considerable savings for you.

Georgia homeowners can claim a Homestead Exemption if they occupied the home on or before January 1, 2014.  To claim the benefit, you MUST file for Homestead Exemption with the tax office of the county where you reside.  If the property is located within city limits (e.g., Decatur), you may be required to file with the city as well.  However, the deadlines and filing requirements vary by county, so you need to check with the county where you purchased your home.  You only need to file once; the benefit remains with you, the property owner, as long as the property is your primary residence. We have included links to area county websites, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

We wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2014!

Protect Your Home From Record Low Temps

January 6th, 2014

how-protect-home-extreme-cold-weather-2As we see record low temperatures in metro Atlanta, here are a few tips to protect your home from the artic air.

*Keep the thermostat set to a minimum of 65 degrees.

*Keep the temperature the same during the day and night.  This is not the time to save a few dollars by lowering the temperature when you’re not home or when you’re sleeping.

*Find the main water shutoff in your home, and be sure you know how to use it… just in case.

*Turn on your faucets enough to let them drip.

*Open the cabinet doors under the kitchen and bathroom sinks to let the warm air flow under the sinks and around pipes.

*Make sure all hoses are disconnected from outside spigots.

*Lastly, we hope you don’t need it, but have a plumber’s name and phone number handy, just in case.
